2. Competent and in-demand.
3. In-demand and passionate.
4. Competent, in-demand and passionate.

Great if you chose option 4. If not then here is the feedback:

• 1. Competent and passionate. There is little / no demand. What you have is a hobby.
• 2. Competent and in-demand. The absence of passion will make dealing with you feel like a necessary evil.
• 3. In-demand and passionate. An absence of competence regardless of market demand and passion equates to incompetence.

Many entrepreneurs fall into category 1 and thus bounce along the runway and eventually run out of runway / funds.

Many permanent employees fall into category 2. They are at work to simply pay the bills.

Category 3 is okay if you are starting a new role or just entering the world of work. Just remember to follow the demand, keep the passion flame burning and make competence your priority.
