CIO: Every Little Helps
The IT industry got a global boost recently when the CEO of Tesco announced that his successor would be Philip Clarke, whom amongst other things runs IT.
The hopes and fears of the IT industry will now correlated to the Mr Clarke’s success. Unfortunately the current CEO is leaving at the top of his game.
Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see what changes emerge:
- Loyalty card bonus points for members of the Chartered Institute of IT.
- CIO magazine to sit alongside OK! and the Economist magazine.
- Shelf stacker perks to include software development training.
- Cisco, IBM, HP and Sun server technologies to join the product catalogue.
- Anyone with a customer services issue will be told to turn it off and turn it back on again, regardless of the item in question.
- The retail chain is shut down and everything moves to Tesco.com.
