CxO: Rise of the cyborgs
On one hand we are seeing the emergence of the Internet of Things. On the other we are seeing people embrace wearable technology which will increasingly become embeddable technology. Never have to worry again about losing your travel pass or house keys if they are literally located under your skin.
So the reality is that workers and customers are increasingly going to be a blend of organic and electronic matter. In other words you will be in the business of employing and serving cyborgs.
It is early days of course but what are the implications of having your workers hacked and at what point does a worker cease to pay income tax?
This of course is less of an issue for you as a leader given that the company will be paying for your personal connection to the Internet (wirelessly via your nervous system) and your superman exoskeleton.
So moral quandaries can be solved in nanoseconds and any rebellion in the boardroom can be solved by backhanding dissenters through the wall and into reception.
The dystopian futurists have got it wrong. We will be the robots.
