Digital give and take
I am in the process of reading Give and Take, a great book that makes a strong case for generosity of spirit. It is not so much a life-hack guide but more a treatise on the value of collaboration.
In affluent societies there appears to be less of a need to cooperate and so individualism reigns.
But we live in uncertain times and very few of us will achieve our goals without the support of others.
In response to this collaboration is on the ascendancy including social / business models around collaborative consumption.
Increasingly judgements will be made about us in respect of whether we are net givers or takers.
Smart organisations in the digital economy will harness this trend. Imagine rewarding staff based on the extent they have helped others as opposed to how successful they were in meeting their own targets.
What would that do to your sales team? One could only imagine the boost that would give your brand.
