I’m unconscious. lol
The Internet is here. The Internet of Things approaches. It’s not paranoia your alarm clock, pedometer and kettle really are talking about you.
I believe the next step is the Internet of Things in People. We already augment people with internal technology for health purposes. There is no reason why such devices shouldn’t have an IP address.
Wouldn’t life be easier if you were able to carry your money, health records, travel card, library card and even prison record on an embedded chip?
It’s amazing how technology itself has a social element. Through their devices, people are now sharing the fact that they have walked 10,000 steps or kept to their calorie count for the day.
With embedded technology, there is no reason we can’t extend the ‘social’ element. So a typical healthcare alert might include, “Need an ambulance now” and to your wider social community your embedded device can send a more light hearted, “I’m unconscious. lol”
