Intimacy and the CIO
As a CIO, the sign of becoming a digital leader is when your CEO seeks to carve out time in your diary to discuss matters that are not related to IT service issues.
It indicates that you have agreed a level of intimacy whereby the discussion moves beyond the transactional / IT manager remit.
Intimacy is a key component of trust and whether we ike it or not CIOs are in the trust business.
But be careful. Intimacy cannot be acelerated. Those that have tried to do so will have been met with one or more of the following:
- A rebuke.
- A slap.
- A custodial sentence.
