Jobs that don’t exist yet
I thought I would give some thought to jobs that don’t exist yet that we may see in the future:
Social ‘networking’ worker – Social worker for those in some way traumatised or marginalized by social networking.
Memory augmentation surgeon – Essentially surgeons that add extra memory capacity to people that have been over exposed to information in the course of their life and simply can no longer take on any more information thus leading to sensory shutdown.
Ghost experience assistant – For the super rich, who limited by time are unable to do everything expected of them, and so outsource experience gathering to third parties. These third parties tend to match the physical and psychological profile of the customer and so are more likely to capture the essence of the experience in a customer friendly way. They would write up or in some way or other relay the experience such that the customer could vividly pretend that he/she himself had experienced it.
Robocop – These are human policemen tasked with dealing with robot-related crime.
Can you think of any jobs that don’t exist yet?
Brace yourself for the future of work.
