There is a good reason people are attracted to social media. Only about 12,000 years ago we were running around the savannah trying to secure lunch. Lunch was often bigger than us so we had to work as a tight knit team. A miscommunication could turn Team Predator into prey.

The period since then is just a small drop in the bucket of mankind's actual existence. We may dress a little differently and have less of a need to physically nit pick, but we are wired for social behaviour.

Tech players who want to capitalise on our true nature need to understand that their offerings must have a social component.
