Executive sessions

Make space for the conversations that matter
Leadership teams spend much of their time running the organisation. Sometimes they need to step outside the day-to-day and consider whether the organisation is ready for what comes next.

AI, changing workforce expectations, new competitors, geopolitical uncertainty and accelerating disruption are challenging long-held assumptions about strategy, leadership and organisational design.
Ade works with boards and executive teams to create the space to explore these issues, challenge existing thinking and determine what they mean for their organisation.
New challenges
You are under pressure to improve performance, yet the conditions on which your strategy depends keep changing. AI is raising expectations. Customer needs are shifting. Established sources of value are becoming less reliable.

Working harder within the existing model may no longer be enough.
You might be asking:

-
Are we transforming fast enough, or is change outpacing our ability to respond?
-
How do we turn AI investment into business value, beyond isolated productivity gains?
-
How should we redesign work and our workforce as human and machine capabilities evolve?
-
Where will future growth come from if our current business model is under threat?
-
How do we make good decisions when the assumptions behind them keep changing?
These questions are connected. Addressing them requires a view of the whole organisation, and somewhere to think beyond the pressures of the working week.

The objective is not another away day. It is greater clarity, stronger alignment and a clearer sense of what needs to happen next.
Start with the challenge
Every organisation has a different starting point.
A Leadership Session is built around a strategic question that matters to your organisation, rather than a predetermined programme.

Typical questions include:

-
Are we transforming fast enough?
-
How do we turn AI investment into business value?
-
How should we redesign work and the workforce around AI?
-
Where will our future growth come from?
-
What is preventing us from adapting faster?
-
How do we make better decisions in an increasingly uncertain environment?
The question provides the starting point. Ade brings external perspective, challenging ideas and practical frameworks to help the leadership team explore what is really going on beneath the presenting issue.
What you gain
Clarity
Separate the underlying issue from its symptoms and develop a clearer understanding of what really requires attention.

Perspective
Step outside the assumptions and operating conventions that can constrain leadership thinking.

Alignment
Develop a stronger shared understanding of the challenge, the choices available and what matters most.

Direction
Translate the conversation into priorities, decisions and practical next steps.

The aim is not to leave the room with more ideas. It is to leave with greater clarity about what needs to change and where leadership attention should go next.
Engagement formats
Executive briefing
(60–90 minutes)
A focused session designed to challenge established thinking, introduce a different perspective and stimulate an executive-level conversation around a specific issue.
Ideal when the leadership team needs to explore an emerging challenge before determining whether further action is required.

Leadership workshop
(Half or full day)

A more participative session in which the leadership team applies new perspectives and frameworks directly to its own organisation.
The emphasis moves from What is changing? to What does this mean for us?

Board or leadership off-site
(Half day to two days)

A deeper exploration of the strategic and organisational implications of disruption.

Designed around the organisation's circumstances, the session creates space for reflection, challenge, alignment and decisions away from the pressures of day-to-day operations.
How Ade works
Before
Ade works with the sponsor to understand the context, the leadership team and the question that needs addressing.

Where useful, participants may be invited to provide perspectives in advance so that the session focuses on the issues that matter rather than generic content.

During
The session combines external perspective, provocative ideas, structured discussion and practical frameworks.

Ade's role is not to arrive with predetermined answers. It is to challenge assumptions, surface different perspectives and help the team develop a clearer understanding of the choices it faces.

After
The session concludes by identifying the important insights, decisions and areas requiring further attention.

Where appropriate, this can lead to further leadership sessions or an ongoing advisory relationship.
Why Ade?
An independent perspective
Ade is not tied to a technology platform, consulting methodology or predetermined solution.
His role is to help leadership teams see their situation differently and think more clearly about what comes next.

He has no interest in flooding your organisation with billable consultants. His role is purely advisory.

The intersection of business, technology and leadership
Ade's background spans technology, strategy, leadership development, executive education and organisational advisory.
He has worked with senior leaders across sectors and around the world, including through his work as a Financial Times columnist and executive educator at the University of Cambridge.

Thinking designed for an unpredictable world
Ade's work explores how organisations can remain viable, vital and valuable as uncertainty and disruption increase.
His Intelligent Organisation research provides a deeper body of thinking that can be drawn upon where relevant, without requiring participants to learn a new management methodology. Though they are 'at risk' of subsequently seeing the world and your organisation differently.
