What is Human-on-the-Loop?

Human-on-the-Loop describes an AI operating model in which the system can make decisions and take actions autonomously whilst a person supervises its activity and can intervene when necessary. Human approval is not required for every action, but human oversight remains part of the control system.

For intelligent organisations, Human-on-the-Loop can provide a useful balance between autonomy and governance. It allows AI agents to operate at machine speed while preserving a human ability to monitor, challenge, stop or redirect them when circumstances move beyond acceptable boundaries.
