What is Proprioception?

Proprioception is neuroscientific term to describe an organism’s awareness of its position as it moves through its environment. The gymnast relies on proprioception to land feet first on the balance beam or ground.

Intelligent organisations are similarly aware of how they move through their environment. Organisational proprioception enables leaders to quickly detect when customers are becoming unhappy or when they are detrimentally impacting the communities where they are located.

Traditional organisations, on the other hand, are like the proverbial bull in a china shop.
