What is Radical innovation?

Radical innovation is an approach to innovation where the focus is less on risk management and more on breakthrough outcomes. It can also refer to innovation that targets non-aligned markets, eg. an online retailer developing a new ride sharing offering.


Intelligent organisations recognise that dependence on a single source of value threatens long-term viability. They therefore use radical innovation to create strategic options, exploring new technologies, business models and markets before they become necessary.
